The pictures were all enlarged and drawn beforehand, then I brought the pieces to the school to cut them out and mount them on a background paper. I didn't know how it would all come together, but we just started sticking pieces up and kept going until they'd all been used. The foam strips (with staples) are the main thing holding the pieces up, with clear tape where needed. Lots of people appreciated the book quotes (and I think they might have helped make sense of some of the booths).
The drawing was something I did "a little each day" and the assembly took pretty much 6 hours on Friday. Sheesh.
