BOWLING Booth

GAME: Bowling
TEACHER: Thomas

RULES: 2 tickets for 2 rolls.  1st (strike), 2nd (9 or spare), and 3rd prizes (less than 9) for knocking down pins.  Smaller kids had a closer line.

SUPPLIES:  Bowling balls, pins, gym mats, divided, bowling lanes, 3 tables, ticket box, 3 prize boxes.
The blue floor mats (see photo) are a backstop and sidestop for the balls.  The lane divider allows you to set up 2 lanes. 

IMPORTANT: The gym teachers put in a request with the district for the equipment.  Touch base in January just to confirm.  Let the caper chair know you want 3 tables.

DECOR: Mural for wall, Banner to span posts, Table skirt.

DIMENSIONS: 24' long, 10' deep booth.

CLASS TIME:  The class likes to be very involved in the decor.  You can do everything in one afternoon (week of the caper)  if it is planned out and scheduled in advance.  If you can make a pre-visit to discuss with them what theme and decor they want, they like it.  In most years the class has a suggestion box for kids to suggest the booth name, then they vote to choose which they like best.  You can give students supplies for making advertising posters, get them started, and let them finish in free time.

STAFFING: 1 hour shifts with 2 Adults and 2 children at each shift.  Ask the last shift to help clean. Ask the clean-up person to save the decor (if it is precious to the students).  ** Note: If a volunteer offers "put me wherever you need me", schedule them for the last shift plus clean-up.  Late shifts are harder to fill.**  It is good to start filling the staffing positions the first week of FEBRUARY.  Be sure to get someone assigned to help set up on Friday evening.

NOTES:  The pins are easy to knock over, so make the requirements for getting "1st prize" strict.  Having a co-chair help with this booth makes the work load lighter!
