2009: Good Books, Good Times (Artwork by Gina Weibel)
So, here's where those paper mache books ended up! Four of them were hung from the ceiling (the helper ingeniously found a way to hang them with wire and not damage the ceiling at all.)
One of the enormous books was placed on the floor (and luckily no one climbed on it). The other was placed on the raffle-ticket sales table.
The 12 "open books" displayed our theme poem as well as a poem by Jack Prelutsky, as they dangled in a kinetic-sculpture sort of way. I think it all looked great!
We also had piles of (fake) books that were actually made of paper-decoupage on cereal boxes and other paperboard boxes of all sizes, piled up on the tables. They had titles of interesting books, and added a decorative element to the ticket sales and loot-bag tables.
